Mixing chamber KM LEO

The KM mixing chamber is a line of simple and functional accessories that allow fresh air from outside to be supplied to a room. It is a perfect solution for forced ventilation and does not require the installation of additional systems. Combining a mixing chamber with a heater allows the supply air stream to be heated via a heat exchanger and then blown into the building.

Product description

Thanks to appropriately constructed brackets, the KM mixing chamber can be easily installed with a water heater. In combination with LEO heaters and UVO roof fans, the mixing chamber forms the simplest force ventilation system that ensures low energy consumption without the need for additional components. The mixing chamber's simplicity of design and ease of installation, translates into convenience of use and customer satisfaction.

The mixing chamber also offers a number of additional functions. As part of the FLOWAIR SYSTEM intelligent control, the units know exactly when to operate. Thanks to free-cooling or free-heating functions, the units, instead of generating energy, are able to use the outside temperature to provide adequate air comfort. The T-box controller with touchscreen display, which is the brain of the SYSTEM, also controls all devices from one place.

KM mixing chambers are equipped with 3 adjustable air inlets: two recirculating and one fresh. Thanks to the infinitely variable opening of the dampers in the range of 0-100%, it is possible to vary the fresh air supply and heat recovery by means of recirculation.

As standard, KM mixing chambers are equipped with a cartridge filter of Coarse 80% class (PN-EN ISO 16890-1E), which cleans the air supplied to the room from solid contaminants, such as larger pollen or coarse metallurgical dust. The filter can be positioned in two locations, giving the option of filtering outside air or both outside and recirculated air at the same time. Installation of the filter is possible on two sides of the chamber for greater user comfort.

Automation for the KM chamber has 4 temperature sensors that analyse the operating parameters of the device in real time. In case of detecting too low a temperature on the supply air side of the unit just behind the water exchanger or too low a temperature of the heating medium, the unit enters antifreeze mode. The external fresh air dampers close, the SRX valve opens, allowing the heating medium to flow through the unit and the unit fan turns off. This state lasts until operating conditions improve, after which the unit returns to normal operation according to the set schedule.

There are 3 models available: KM S, KM L and KM XL, allowing you to choose the right unit for your facility's needs and requirements.

SYSTEM FLOWAIR, the intelligent control

A complete control and safety set is available for the mixing chamber.
The LEO water heater together with the KM mixing chambers can operate within the BMS and FLOWAIR SYSTEM, i.e. intelligent control that responsibly manages energy at the facility. Centrally controlled systems result in real savings and ensure comfortable temperature all year round.

Complete automation

The KM mixing chamber is equipped with a complete power and control and safety automation (KM control), which facilitates the control of the unit and protects it from damage. The KM control system consists of: the T-box controller + KM automation set: DRV KM control module, proportional mixing chamber damper actuator, 3-way valve with 3-point actuator, 4 temperature sensors. Advantages of the solution:
•    3-stage fan performance control,
•    infinitely adjustable supply air temperature,
•    balance, positive or negative pressure relative to the roof fans,
•    "Antifreeze" room protection,
•    water exchanger antifreeze protection,
•    weekly programmer,
•    possibility of operating up to 31 devices with a single T-box controller,
•    option to connect to the BMS,
•    option to connect a gas detection cabinet,
•    damper adjustment based on outside air temperature,
•     filter contamination control after connecting the pressure switch.

Accessories

The range includes roof fans and all necessary accessories for wall and overhead installation, such as air intakes, plinths, roof bases or mounting consoles.
It is possible to manufacture the mixing chamber in INOX steel and to connect the KM to LEO heaters in a steel housing.

KM LEO installation

The KM mixing chamber together with the LEO heaters are mounted to the walls or ceiling in any position. As basic equipment, the unit has brackets for the ceiling suspension of the unit with pins. The mounting bracket allows the unit to be easily and aesthetically mounted to vertical partitions.

Important installation instructions:

  • The units should be installed to ensure even air distribution throughout the room.
  • It is recommended that fresh air be supplied to the unit via straight ducts. The use of ducts with additional local pressure losses may result in a significant drop in the unit's performance.
  • The heaters should be installed so that the supply air streams are not obstructed by other objects or partitions.
  • When heaters are mounted on opposite walls, an "overlapping" arrangement should be used.
  • The heaters should be mounted in such a way as to ensure free air flow around the unit.
